Camagüey, February 22.- The imperative of differentiated attention to producers who demonstrate that positive results can be obtained on this front was, the day before, constant in the exchange of Federico Hernández Hernández, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in Camagüey, with advanced agrarians in the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas, in the north of this province.
In a previous contact with leaders of the PCC, the local government and directors of the Sola Agricultural and Citrus Company, the state of production in the areas benefited from irrigation thanks to eight central pivot machines and the tasks in another four were known. to incorporate them into the useful process.
A recommendation in coherence with the current moments became that of an intersectoral cooperative action to be established with potential buyers of the production, in order to rehabilitate and promote areas dedicated to various crops.
Equally encouraging is the rescue of drip irrigation, which provided such good results in past times, as a technique for dominating the farmers of that high area that provides citrus, root vegetables and vegetables, for which the preparation of land and the laying of pipes.
Demonstrating that we do not have to wait for high-level visits to live up to what is demanded for feeding the people, was the tour of the El Alacrán farm, where Eliosmar Collazo, his wife Yoleidys González, along with their children and nephews, make the land bear a variety of crops, with beans predominating.
With similar good results they work in La Suerte, a ranch of just over 13 hectares, in which the family headed by Reunelis Pineda achieves, harvest after harvest, favorable dividends, as a corollary of intelligent maneuvering and constant effort, with the use of traction animal.
Such realities observed in the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas call for reflection to extend them to other areas of the Camagüey territory, where there are good and very valuable producers who require attention and support every day and at all hours, as the member of the Committee indicated.
