United States organization repudiates the blockade of Cuba and the genocide in Gaza


Havana, March 10.- The condemnation of the genocidal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba and the request for an end to the bombings of Gaza were heard from the Hands Off Cuba Committee, a solidarity organization based in the city. The solidarity action was part of the celebration for International Women's Day, focused on recognizing the resistance of women to the wars that imperialism imposes, and which have their expression in events such as the sanctions against Cuba and the military aggression deployed by Israel against the Gaza Strip, since October 7.

Solidarity activist Mark L. Friedman informed Granma, via Whatsapp, that after the Art and Resistance Roundtable was presented, the participants took the floor to condemn the US foreign policy applied to southern countries, mainly against the peoples of Cuba and Palestine.

The meeting also advocated for active participation in the street struggles that defend the causes of the Greater Antilles and the Arab nation, and those present were invited to attend the activities for May Day, in Havana.

The organization forms a delegation in which about 45 people are registered under the name of Labor and Youth Activists to attend the celebrations for International Workers' Day.

In the activity, the different solidarity actions carried out by Cuba were addressed, to defend the Palestinians massacred by Israel, and the number of scholarships granted to young people from the Gaza Strip to study on the Caribbean island, mainly the career of Medicine.
