Camagüey, March 20.- The XII Edition of the Theater Festival will begin today in the city of Camagüey and will last until the 24th of this month, in a day dedicated to the outstanding writer Niurki Pérez García, the thirtieth anniversary of the Desandann Vocal Group and the small format theater.
This cultural event will feature the participation of the Teatral Danzaria La Andariega company and other theater groups from provinces such as Havana, Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Las Tunas and Granma, in addition, two Mexican groups that maintain a significant cultural exchange with the territory will join.
The general director of the meeting, José Elías Gomero Avella, who is also a Theater methodologist in the Camagüey Culture House System, pointed out that the spaces of the Avellaneda, Guiñol, La Agencia de Oro and Principal Theaters, as well as the headquarters of La Andariega and Plaza del Gallo will host the shows.
Gomero Avella added that the activities will expand to schools, care centers and communities to turn Teatrino into a cultural event with a strong social and artistic impact.
On this occasion, tribute will be paid to Niurki Pérez, one of the most outstanding writers in children's literature in Camagüey, and the andariegos will give her special recognition for her close collaboration with the company.
