United States Coast Guard returns 52 migrants

Havana, April 25.- The United States Coast Guard (USA) returned a group of 52 irregular migrants through the Port of Orozco in Bahía Honda, Artemisa.

These are 45 men, six women and a four-year-old child who had left the country illegally by sea and were later intercepted.

The majority come from Matanzas, reported a note on the Ministry of the Interior site.

Four of those returned were on conditional release for compliance with criminal sanctions at the time of leaving the Island and will be placed at the disposal of the corresponding courts for the revocation of said benefits.

With this, so far this year there have already been 31 return operations from different countries in the region, with a total of 429 people returned to the largest of the Antilles.

The Cuban authorities remain firmly committed to safe and orderly migration, while reiterating the danger and life-threatening conditions represented by illegal departures from the country and involving minors. (ACN) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
