Havana, May 22. - Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, today reaffirmed his confidence in young Cubans and pointed out that they have to set the tone.
Recalling his recent meetings with the National Bureau of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) and with scientists of the new generations, the head of state said in X that each exchange with youth renews the commitment.
This Saturday, the meeting with the National Bureau had as its main topic the Status of the implementation and updating of the Strategy to strengthen the integral role of the UJC, youth movements and student organizations in the present and future of the country, the Presidency outlined.
As explained by the First Secretary of the National Bureau, Meyvis Estévez Echavarría, it is a well-considered and tempered Strategy for the current times, and that covers universes such as economic-productive work, the defense of the Homeland and the of social impact tasks.
Díaz-Canel highlighted the relevance of putting this Youth Strategy in total harmony with that of the Communist Party and its current priorities; because, he said, young people are decisive in ensuring that things done in Cuba are done well.
Meanwhile, this Tuesday the president participated in the constitution of the Youth Innovation Committee (CIJ), where he stated that there is still much to say about what young scientists and innovators are going to contribute from the science they are doing, as has already been demonstrated. in the history of Revolution.
