Agriculture and livestock farming tour


 

Camagüey, June 15 - As part of the second day of the tour of productive areas of the province, the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba José Ramón Monteagudo Ruiz, visited farms and entities of the provincial capital and the municipality Carlos Manuel de Céspedes where the planting of various crops is promoted, at the same time, the distinction “Por las Senda de Agramonte” was awarded to outstanding producers.

The producer Ariel Santana Estrada from the Santa Teresa farm, belonging to the Cooperative of Credits and Services, CCS, Manuel Piti Fajardo, was recognized for the effort made in order to fulfill the commitment to complete seven hectares with the planting of banana, cassava, corn and pumpkin.

Other satisfactory results are shown by Nibaldo Navarro Montero of Los Coquitos emporium in the green ring of the city with two caballerias in exploitation of a total of five, where the areas are also used to diversify crops, with the commitment in the coming days to complete the dwarf plantain cavalry by the extra dense system and incorporate the fruit plantain in about five hectares.

José Ramón Monteagudo Ruiz, who is also head of the agri-food department of the Central Committee of the Party, accompanied by the highest authorities of the province, visited the collective area of the Agricultural Production Cooperative in the municipality of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, Camagüey, CPA, Gualberto Galván, which was awarded the recognition “Por las Sendas de Agramonte”, there the leader was interested in the 26 hectares where all of them are planted and more than 15 hectares of banana, the rest of them are planted with cassava, sweet potato and corn.

The tour included other sites, such as the Local Development Project El Tamarindo, where several crops are grown through the application of agroecology and, according to the leading producer Luis Alberto Agüero, plans to incorporate more areas for their preparation, with the purpose of contributing to the nutrition of the population of the Piedrecitas Popular Council.

The tour concluded in the diversified farm La Victoria of the cattle farmer Albérico Cervantes of the Basic Unit of Cooperative Production, UBPC, Guasimal, also recognized with the Distinction “Por las Sendas de Agramonte”; there four and a half caballerias are consolidated with various crops, two of them with rice and the rest with important crops such as banana, cassava and corn.
