Cuban president reiterates denunciation of Israel’s crimes in Lebanon

Havana, Oct 3.- The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, reiterated today the denunciation of the crimes committed by Israel in Lebanon, and demanded action from the international community to stop the aggression.

The news coming from Beirut (Lebanese capital) is horrifying. As has happened in Gaza, another Zionist genocide of scorched earth and martyred people is taking place there, with the use of weapons prohibited by international agreements.

Cuba demands action from the UN, he noted.

In his message, the Cuban president placed a link to information from Prensa Latina that describes the destruction of civil infrastructure by Zionist aviation, while that Government claims to target military objectives.

Israel's permanent bombings cause civilian casualties, while preventing humanitarian assistance to the population under attack.

Through a statement issued this Tuesday, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern about these events in the Middle East, motivated by Israel's aggressive policy, with the military, logistical and political support of the United States government.

He pointed out that the Government of the Jewish country, instead of seeking a negotiated solution that guarantees a ceasefire, has attacked and intensified its irresponsible aggression against Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, in complete disregard for the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba has been warning of the danger of further escalation in the Middle East, because of these actions and the aggressiveness and impunity with which Israel acts, the text stressed.

He reiterated that peace will only be possible in the Middle East through a comprehensive, lasting and just solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which contemplates the creation of a sovereign and independent Palestinian State on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
