Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, The Hague Group, Cuba, ceasefire, Gaza Strip

Cuba supports The Hague Group's proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza

Havana, July 17 – As part of The Hague Group, Cuba supported a proposal by that organization to coordinate actions to implement an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces.

According to a report today by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, the Antillean nation participated in the group's most recent meeting, held in Colombia, where they agreed to work toward achieving tangible results and advancing urgent action regarding the Palestinian situation.

At X, the Chancellor emphasized that Cuba's presence at this meeting demonstrates the country's firm commitment to the just Palestinian cause and the defense of its legitimate right to self-determination.

"We demand an end to the genocide committed by Israel with the support of the US government," he stated in his message.

The Hague Group was created in January 2025 and includes nations from the Global South, with the goal of defending rulings from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC) concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. (Source: ACN)
