Havana, Oct 30.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, recognized the official statements at the United Nations from several countries that supported the island's resolution against the blockade imposed by the United States.
We appreciate the statements of the 31 delegations that spoke at the UN General Assembly and demanded the lifting of the United States blockade on Cuba, the Foreign Minister wrote on the social network X.
As since 1992, the draft resolution on the need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba was presented for debate this Tuesday in New York.
The document was presented by Rodríguez and will also be analyzed tomorrow, Wednesday, when it will also be voted on at the world forum.
During the day, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs published reviews of the interventions that condemned the hostility of the White House towards the island.
Thus, they recounted the speeches of support from the representatives of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, Grenada, Vietnam, Uganda, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia, China, Venezuela and Equatorial Guinea, among many other nations.
Organizations such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization for Islamic Cooperation and the Community of Caribbean States also advocated for the end of the US siege.
Most of the speeches, in addition, demanded the exclusion of Cuba from the List of Countries Sponsoring Terrorism, prepared in a spurious manner by the North American Department of State. (Text and Photo: PL)
