Washington, Dec. 26. - US President Joe Biden has ordered the Department of Defense to continue increasing arms deliveries to Ukraine, contrary to Russia's repeated calls to abandon a position that only fuels the conflict.
In recent months, the United States has provided Ukraine with hundreds of air defense missiles, and more are on the way, Biden stressed in a brief statement published by the White House.
"I have ordered the Department of Defense to continue its increased arms deliveries to Ukraine, and the United States will continue to work tirelessly to strengthen Ukraine's position in its defense against Russian forces."
During the current month of December, the Pentagon delivered three aid packages to Kyiv for a total of $2.25 billion, which included, among other things, ammunition for the NASAMS and HIMARS surface-to-air missile systems, Stinger missiles, 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition, and Javelin anti-tank systems.
