Camagüey, Dec. 30. - José Luis Rodríguez Prieto is a farmer associated with the Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) Braudilio Leyva, in this municipality, who achieves good results in the breeding of dark-skinned pigs.
During the current calendar, the small farmer delivered half a ton of meat to the Frutas Selectas Base Business Unit (UEB), marketed 33 animals and donated another three.
In response to the call of the political and administrative leadership in the territory, he is preparing to participate in the Agricultural Fair for the end of the year, where he hopes to sell more than 20 pigs to the population.
He said that he decided to breed the dark-skinned breed because it is more resistant, can be kept loose in the pasture and is fed with waste from the root crop and sugarcane that is produced on the farm, he said.
For next year, the usufructuary José Luis Rodríguez hopes to expand with the construction of warehouses and corrals after receiving more than one million pesos from a Local Development Project. (Rodolfo Medina Hechavarría/Radio Camagüey) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
