Mexico City, Jan. 1.- President Claudia Sheinbaum called 2024 a great year for the people of Mexico and assured the continuity of the path of transformation driven by the movement she leads.
Through a message shared on X to congratulate the citizens, the dignitary recalled that this year a great leader left the government, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who transformed the life of the nation together with the people, she said.
Last June, she added, “it was the election, almost 36 million Mexicans decided two very important things: the first, that the fourth transformation continues, and the second, that for the first time a woman would govern Mexico.”
“As I have said on many occasions, I did not arrive alone, all Mexican women arrived,” added the head of the Executive in a video where she is seen planting a tree called Abies religiosa, native to the country.
Sheinbaum considered that this is a moment of reflection on what happened in the year in personal, family and national terms, and expressed her gratitude for the support received.
“I want to tell you that we are going to continue the path of transformation, that there is no turning back, that there will be no regressions, that we are going to continue with the people of Mexico transforming our country from below,” she said, predicting a good 2025.
The head of state recalled that next June the election by popular vote of judges, magistrates and ministers of the Supreme Court will take place.
“We are perhaps the only country in the world that will democratically elect the judiciary and that is something very good for our country. It is part of this profound transformation and of the democratic life that we are living,” she said.
She wished the population all the best for the coming year and reaffirmed that the nation will do very well.
“I know this because there is unity in the people of Mexico, with the people of Mexico, and you should know that on my part we will always put everything in our hands, in our hearts, in our minds, to continue transforming and to make our beautiful homeland even greater,” she emphasized.
