President of Cuba in Venezuela for Maduro’s office taking


Caracas, Jan 10.- The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, arrived in Venezuela today to accompany his counterpart Nicolás Maduro in the inauguration before the National Assembly (Parliament) for the period 2025-2031.

The Cuban delegation was received on ramp four of the Simón Bolívar international airport in Maiquetía, state of La Guaira, by the sectoral vice president for Science, Technology and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, and the island's ambassador in Caracas, Dagoberto Rodríguez.

This Friday, the Bolivarian head of state will assume the presidency of his country for his third consecutive term, after obtaining victory in the presidential elections on July 28 with 51.95 percent of the votes, according to the National Electoral Council.

More than two thousand representatives of governments, social movements from more than a hundred countries on all continents and international organizations traveled to this capital to attend Maduro's swearing-in this Friday, at the Federal Legislative Palace. (Text and photo: PL)
