Maduro arrived at the Federal Legislative Palace to take office


Caracas, January 10.- The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, arrived at the Federal Legislative Palace where he will take the oath today for a new presidential term.

Accompanied by the first combatant and deputy to the National Assembly Cilia Flores, the executive vice president Delcy Rodríguez and the first vice president of the United Socialist Party, Diosdado Cabello, the president was received by the head of the Legislative Branch Jorge Rodríguez.

Thousands of citizens of the town also welcomed the dignitary stationed around the parliamentary facility.

Once inside the Federal Palace, Maduro was received by the Parliament's Board of Directors, who accompanied him to the Elliptical Hall, where he was acclaimed by deputies and 51 international delegations present, of which 13 are heads of state and governments.

More than two thousand representatives of governments, social movements from more than a hundred countries on all continents and international organizations traveled to this capital to attend Maduro's swearing-in this Friday, at the Federal Legislative Palace.

Parallel to the investiture of the Bolivarian president, thousands of Venezuelans from Caracas and other states of the country are mobilizing towards the historic center to accompany Maduro and celebrate what they describe here as a historic inauguration. (Text and photo: PL)
