Ramallah, Jan 13.- The Palestinian presidency today asked the UN Security Council once again to force Israel to end its war campaign against the Gaza Strip and to promote the unrestricted entry of aid for the population.
Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina highlighted the diplomatic offensive of the Palestinian government to end the aggression against the coastal enclave, where more than two million people live.
In a statement, the official accused the authorities of the neighboring country for the “massacres, destruction and displacement” of the population.
Abu Rudeina detailed that President Mahmoud Abbas is developing a campaign of contacts and meetings with leaders from various latitudes to accelerate the end of the war.
In this regard, he demanded the implementation of resolution 2735 of the UN Security Council, approved last year, which stipulates a ceasefire and the entry of urgent aid into the Strip.
The spokesman also criticized the military operations of the Israeli Army in the occupied West Bank.
More than 46,000 Palestinians have died in the last 15 months in the coastal enclave and more than 107,000 have been injured, according to official data. (Text and photo: PL)
