Matanzas, January 22.- The Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE) synchronized with the National Electric System (SEN) today at 7:44 am, after its departure on the morning of last Saturday due to an oil leak in a technological system.
Rubén Campos Olmo, general director of the industry, explained to the Cuban News Agency that at this time the process of increasing the load continues, and they predict that by the day, if conditions remain favorable, a generation of between 240 megawatts ( MW) or 250 MW.
The engineer specified that during the nearly four days of the CTE stoppage, a volume of more than 400 corrective actions were carried out that allowed its reinstatement before the scheduled time, and that it also had the support of brigades from Mariel, Santa Cruz, Cienfuegos and Felton.
Cleaning the air heaters, checking the boiler furnace, changing valves and other tasks to take advantage of the time to perform maintenance, were among the main actions, according to Campos Olmo.
With more than three decades in operation, the Antonio Guiteras CTE constitutes the largest and most efficient unitary block of its type in the Caribbean nation, and is distinguished by having the dedication and dedication of its human resources in the tasks, committed to the provision of the important service generated by the unit.
