Havana, Feb 1st. - With the call to continue defending the just causes of the peoples and the need to establish a new world order, the Sixth International Conference for the Balance of the World concluded at the Havana Convention Palace.
We appreciate the participation in an event convened by a 172-year-old man, who is already an eternal man: José Martí, said in his closing speech the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. Thank you for asserting your support for Cuba in person," he told the more than a thousand attendees.
The president thanked the people of the largest of the Antilles for their solidarity, which pays 66 years ago the very high price of having no price.
Martí, defined by Lezama Lima as the mystery that accompanies us, is with the citizens who firmly believe in balancing the world. To the Cubans, the apostle leads us constantly, and his presence is from a bust in a school or workplace to the dazzling that causes his verses in those of us who read him, he said.
Díaz-Canel referred to the Palestinian holocaust at the hands of Israel, the persecution of thousands of migrants in the United States and condemned the sending of deportees to the illegal naval base of Guantanamo on Cuban soil. We will not be silent in the face of infamy, nor will we lose hope in human improvement, he said.
He reminded Martí, when he stated that our battle would obey justice and not revenge, and when he warned about the danger of a modern empire willing to sweep with the balance of civilization.
America's aggressive behavior threatens international peace. It is not possible to ignore that reality. The dominant political forces embrace fascist ideas that humanity has focused on eliminating since the last century. These currents are the fruit of capitalism," he said.
The president commented that the international order established after the end of World War II is heir to colonialism, which seeks to enrich itself at the expense of the underdevelopment of the colonized. It is no longer just a direct territorial occupation, but also about market control, natural resources, technology and information.
According to the president, the elites are not only seeking to maximize profits, but also to consolidate their hegemony. It is the essence of an international order where the gap between the richest and the poorest grows, rather than diminished.
However, he expressed his conviction that a better world is possible, where all nations contribute and are represented on an equal footing. An order where respect for the right of each country to choose a system without interference prevails. "This requires unity, sowing ideas and sowing consciences," he said.
At the closing, the representatives of the forums that sat at the event read the statements provided by each group.
The importance of the brotherhood of peoples in the struggle for a multipolar world, the need to defend Cuba's truth to hostile U.S. policy, condemnation of genocide in Palestine, the defense of Puerto Rico's freedom, opposition to the expansion of military bases, and the importance of Latin America and the Caribbean remaining a zone of peace, did not rule on the condemnation of genocide in Palestine, the defense of Puerto Rico's freedom, the opposition to the expansion of military bases, and the importance of Latin America and the Caribbean remaining a zone of peace.
Given the success of this conference and the interest of the participants in the various topics that make up the conclave, it was oriented to begin work on the organization of the VII Convention for the Balance of the World, which will be held again in Havana from 26 to 30 January 2027.
The closing was also attended by the president of the National Assembly of People's Power, Esteban Lazo Hernández; Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz; the secretary of organization of the Central Committee of the Party, Roberto Morales Ojeda; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, among other authorities and intellectuals.
