Camagüey: a month of celebrations and achievements in Cuban journalism (Photo)


Camaguey, Mar 29th. - Another of the activities planned in the extensive program of the Day for Cuban Press Day, organized here by the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC), was the signing of the work agreement between the Institute of Social Communication (ICS) and the trade union organization.

José Díaz Hernández, provincial director of the ICS; and Juan Mendoza Medina, head of Camagüey’s journalists; they carried out the rubric of the document that marks the continuity in the actions of formation, overcoming and successful content management according to the provisions of the Law on Information and Communication, approved on the island during the last calendar.

Mendoza Medina pointed out that joint action is vital because it facilitates raising the communication culture of the entities and the population, in addition to addressing obstacles that still persist in society, concerning this area.

The day also acknowleged the most relevant work of the guild as part of the traditional Carlos Bastida 2025 Contest, a space that every year invites in March to celebrate with the most valuable achievements of the achievements of the students and journalists of Agramontinos.

Of the more than eighty works in competition, the highest awards in Printed Press Yanetsy León González (Adelante) for El vuelo de la Jabalina; on Radio the current set of comments of the municipality of Florida, presented by the reporter of the local station, Pedro Pablo Sáez Herrera, presented by the reporter of the local station, Pedro Pablo Sáez Herrera.
