Santa Cruz del Sur, Camaguey, Mar 29th. - Adlyn Beltrán Rojas, director of the Center for Diagnosis and Orientation (CDO) of Santa Cruz del Sur, has dedicated countless hours to research, defying sleep on nights and early mornings, with the firm purpose of advancing in scientific-technical overcoming.
Her research work, entitled The stimulation of sensation in children with intellectual disabilities and moderate functioning, addresses the needs of a vulnerable group.
Beltrán Rojas stressed that students with these characteristics often have motor clumsiness and difficulties in the development of cognitive processes, which prevents them from properly observing their environment.
To carry out her research she carried out a characterization of the students of the special school Tania La Guerrillera, the only one of its kind in the locality. In a second phase, she collected data on a significant group of students, determining their level of knowledge about colors and numbers, as well as their ability to play musical instruments.
Her investigative work was presented at the Pedagogy 2025 event, held at the Havana Convention Palace from 10 to 13 February. "This is a professional challenge for teachers. During those days, the high level of preparation for education in Cuba was evident, despite the cruel imperialist blockade," she said.
Becoming a doctor in your field is the great goal that has been set for the rest of the year. Adlyn is aware that he will need an additional effort to achieve this ambitious goal, but is determined to achieve this, sacrificing hours of sleep and counting on the unconditional support of his loved ones and the CDO team she leads.
