Camagüey, May 24th. - Avid of knowledge and motivated by the world of new technologies, fifth grade students of the Jesús Suarez Gayol primary school, of the provincial capital city, opted for the circle of interest In line with the world, managed by the Territorial Division of the Telecommunications Company of Cuba (ETECSA).
In a first approach, students received information on the mission and vision of the entity, the evolution of telephones, the communication by videoconference and the operation of the equipment of the plant where the fixed telephony services are managed with the guide of Lilian Calderón Rodríguez, training specialist; and Yenkell Lliteras Cebada, expert in Telematics.
They were interested in areas such as the test table where customers report breakdowns and diagnoses are made, and were curious about the skills they must show to access, in the future, telecommunications-related careers.
The teacher of the educational center, Idalmis Pérez Alfonso, said that the Territorial Division is an example of integral formation and the promotion of ethical and moral values that pursue the creation of circles of interest, a space that is always to ETECSA and that currently hosts new pioneers for a period of two years.
He referred to topics such as cybersecurity, mainly at an early age; the revision of bibliographic sources and websites to deepen knowledge, the responsible use of technologies in an interactive dialogue that prepares them for life while entering the digital world and motivates them to transmit knowledge in homes, communities and schools.
On the faces of Maikol Benítez Davies and Isabela Sabido Collado there was a smile and constant curiosity, eager to be part of the blue family in years to come to star in the digital transformation tomorrow.
Lliteras Cebada appreciated the interest of the children and assured that the meetings guarantee a comprehensive preparation for future medium technicians in telecommunications or engineers of the company thanks to the participation of activities, tours of the areas and exchanges with the workers.
Promoting vocational training is a premise for ETECSA in Camaguey, hence it is planned to create circles of interest with primary education institutions in the municipalities of Nuevitas and Santa Cruz del Sur. (Text: Gladys Dailyn Morera Cordero/Radio Cadena Agramonte) (Photo: Internet)
