Camaguey, Apr 15th. - In an atmosphere of unity and commitment, the Cuban Workers Central (CTC) in Camagüey declared the Provincial Directorate of Radio and Radio Cadena Agramonte as centers ready to participate in the celebrations of May Day and the XXII Congress of the CTC.
In this context Idavis Griñan Garrick Garrick, secretary general of the CTC in the Agramonte’s capital, pointed out that International Workers' Day represents a unique opportunity for Camagüey people to show their support for the Revolution and their commitment to the ideals of social justice.
She added that the presence of radio professionals in the march not only reflects their support for the principles of unity and sense of the historical moment, but also highlights his essential role as communicators in Cuban society, transmitting the voice of the people through the microphones.
Laritza Nápoles Vivas, secretary of the Union of Culture Workers in the territory, highlighted that the XXII Congress of the CTC becomes a space for reflection and dialogue where strategies for the development of the trade union movement in Cuba will be discussed. The presence of workers in the culture sector is crucial as they provide their vision for the impact of labour policies on communication.
This event will also serve to reaffirm the importance of solidarity between the different labor sectors, promoting a united front in the defense of the rights and conquests of the workers, he said.
Ayler Almarales Fonseca, Head of the Department of Communication at the Provincial Directorate of Radio, stressed that the guild is aware of the impact of radio waves. They are therefore committed to providing truthful coverage ranging from local news to national events. Their work is essential to keep citizens informed and to strengthen the social fabric.
During the day of the celebrations for May Day, an extensive program of activities has been designed that covers days of voluntary work, intergenerational meetings and the dissemination on Radio Cadena Agramonte of life stories and other contents that directly reflect the commitment of workers in all areas.
