Tigres still on a streak in Elite League of Cuban Baseball


Havana, Apr 17th. - The Ciego de Ávila Tigers roared strongly again in the III Liga Elite of Cuban Baseball, adding their fourth victory in a row, this time with a 6-4 slate over the Vegueros de Pinar del Río in Captain San Luis.

With this result, the Ciego de Ávila team chain their third triumph to the thread as visitors against the “pativerdes” and consolidate at the top of the tournament, now with a two-and-a-half game advantage over the Las Tunas Leñadores (Lumberjacks).

The locals didn't help their cause much, making five mistakes that, added to the Tigers' eight hits, sealed the defeat. The eternal Frederich Cepeda hit 4-2 with a double to continue to enlarge his legacy as a historic leader in unstoppable and tubey.

From the mound, Yunier Batista put his arm in with an impeccable four-and-two-thirds relay without freedoms to score the victory, while Leonardo Moreira closed with four gold outs and took his fourth save.
