Camaguey, Apr 26th. - Of 12 irrigation machines, six of them active, has the Agricultural Company and ChythCrícos Sola, of the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas, in the province of Camagüey, to promote the planting of several crops.
Luciano Ortigas Biltres, director of Production of the aforementioned entity, in an interview given to the Cuban News Agency, highlighted as the main commission the short cycle plantations, among which hanging out the sweet potato, pumpkin, corn and beans.
He said that in the current year they have contributed to the Base Business Unit (UEB) Semillas Camagüey more than 11 tons of beans and another eight tons of corn.
In this town, he explained that 57 hectares of potato are harvested, whose main destination will be the population, because although it was planted outside the expected period, production has been favorable.
Once the collection of the tuber is completed, he assured that they will continue to prepare these lands for the promotion of other crops.
