Camagüey, May 5th. "Favourable results, which translate into more saved lives," reports the Neonatology Service of the Ana Betancourt Maternity Hospital of Camagüey.
Dr. Adrianyi Pacheco, head of this area, reported that last year they achieved better indicators than in the previous stage and so far in the current calendar they record 6 fewer deaths than in 2024.
She explained that it is a complex task when assuming newborns with less than 30 weeks of gestation, low weight, and pathologies that affect their quality of life, which demands careful management and total consecration.
The Head of the Neonatology Service of the Ana Betancourt Mother's Hospital in Camagüey added that thanks to the Provincial Directorate of Public Health and the University of Medical Sciences, this activity has been strengthened with 12 resident doctors working alongside the specialists.
