Camagüey, May 6th. - In the province of Camagüey 706 students of twelfth grades will be presented to the entrance exams to higher education, scheduled for the next 6, 9 and 13 May.
Miguel Zayas Feteira, head of Pre-university education in the Directorate General of Education, reported that the 26 schools of this type of teaching in the territory will have a representativeness in the tests, which, as every year, will be applied rigorously and transparently.
For the three days, he said, 16 headquarters were set up in the province and students will have to present the identity card and will only be able to carry pencil, rubber and measuring instruments necessary for the maths subject.
In the past, he stressed that Camagüey ranked fifth at the country level, with 53 per cent approved, higher than the national average and 92 per cent higher education.
This year, he remarked, there is greater motivation and commitment of students to the process, so he assured that the territory aspires to increase these results in the current school year.
He pointed out that from ministerial resolution 119 of 2021 of the Ministry of Higher Education, admission to higher education is encouraged by other means, so to date 502 students have already secured their careers.
In this regard, he mentioned those who obtained this opportunity from the medals obtained in provincial, national and international competitions and for integrating the national pre-selection.
In the same way, among this figure was the students who deserved the granting of a university career from their results in the different cups made both in the province, as well as Villa Clara, Matanzas and Havana.
As a novel experience applied in this school period in Camagüey and the capital of the country, he mentioned the introduction of the university school for the careers of Medicine and Nursing at the University of Medical Sciences, to which 50 students entered; while 142 students were motivated by the one of Pedagogical Sciences and two others by that of Journalism.
He also highlighted the direct grantings made by Gaviota, the General Customs of the Republic, the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior.
From the benefits offered by the above-mentioned resolution, 629 students have the opportunity to wait for the races offered at a third time.
On this occasion the position plan, he said, exceeds the 3,000 careers, with greater representativeness of the Medical Sciences, Pedagogical Sciences and engineering, so there are sufficient options to ensure the continuity of studies at the higher level. (ACN) (Photo: Internet taken)
