Cuba and French project address cooperation on smaller livestock

Havana, May 29, Cuba's ambassador to France, Otto Vaillant, visited today the experimental farm of Pradel, in the southern department of Ardeche, to outline possible cooperation in the field of minor livestock.

In the entity created in 2018 to combine production with scientific research, the head of Mission and the embassy's economic and commercial advisor, Danae de Paz, were received by their director, Jérémie Annicette-Mondélis, and also discussed with breeders.

According to diplomatic sources on the island, the meetings held in the Pradel complex addressed topics such as production, best practices for goat breeding and animal feed research.

The project is that the French experimental estate and Cuban associations enlisted in the program of development of minor livestock on the island establish partnerships, leading to joint work, based on the will expressed by the parties.

Vaillant explained the priority that food security represents for the Antillean nation and the obstacles to this goal posed by the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States and its resurgence in recent years.

Prior to the visit to the Pradel estate, the Cuban and Peace ambassador participated in various activities in Ardeche, a department of the Auvergne-Ródano-Alpes region, invited by Regional Councillor Eric Hours, a member of the French Communist Party, and Bernard Blanc, president of the solidarity association France Cuba.
