Havana, June 16 – The prestigious Cuban institution Casa de las Américas is pleased today with the presentation of a new double issue of the magazine Conjunto (214-215), specializing in Latin American theater.
The launch will take place this afternoon in the Manuel Galich Hall of the capital's cultural fortress and the edition to debate-dedicated to community theater- hosts on its pages the contributions of 24 artists practitioners and thinkers of that scenic modality, from 11 countries.
It therefore includes young and experienced exponents such as Uruguayan-born actor and director Adhemar Bianchi, director of the oldest community theater group in Argentina: Catalinas Sur.
The dossier concludes with Faro, a text by Juan González Fiffe, and Teatro Andante; complementary articles also appear in the recent events sections and in Leer el Teatro.
The presentation will be led by director and playwright Rolando Boet, a graduate in Theater from the Enrique José Varona University of Pedagogical Sciences and director of the University Theater of Havana.
This will be a new opportunity to gain insight into the work of a magazine that, according to the vice president of Casa de las Américas, Jaime Gómez Triana, is one of the most prestigious performing arts magazines on the continent. (Text and photo: PL)
