Havana, 17 Jun.- On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of bibliotecologic studies in Cuba, the Economic Society of Friends of the Country (SEAP, for its acronym in Spanish), in this capital, will host next Friday the III Colloquium Cuban Library: Experiences of the XXI Century, it was announced today.
At the meeting, the professor of the Faculty of Communication (FCOM) of the University of Havana, doctor in sciences Zoia Rivera, will discuss the training of librarians in Cuba: its beginnings and development in the Republic.
Then, the doctor of science Ania R. Hernandez, head of the Department of Information Sciences of this academic institution, will address the subject 75 years later: training in Information Sciences from social commitment.
A project fair will be held by FCOM students, and the Adelina López Llerandi Provincial Award from the Cuban Association of Librarians (ASCUBI) will be presented, in addition to SEAP recognitions for librarians and libraries across the country.
