Colombo, Jun 18. - G.V. D. Tilakasiri, president of the Sri Lankan Democratic Left Front, today reaffirmed his solidarity with Cuba in the face of the hostile policy of the United States.
The secretary general of the Joint Committee of Democratic Trade Unions of Sri Lanka also reiterated his position regarding the Caribbean nation at a meeting in Colombo with Cuban ambassador Andrés González.
During the meeting, bilateral issues of mutual interest were also discussed, according to diplomatic sources.
The Democratic Left Front party is part of the Cuba solidarity movement in Sri Lanka.
On numerous occasions he has issued statements of support and solidarity with Cuba and against the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by Washington on the Caribbean nation for more than 60 years, which has caused innumerable damage to the Cuban people, emphasized the mission of Havana to Colombo.
