Minsk, June 27 – Cuba sees enormous potential in expanding economic and trade relations with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the President of the Caribbean nation, Miguel Díaz-Canel, stated today.
The president, who is participating in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, reiterated his country's firm determination to becoming an effective partner within the organization.
In addition, he said that over the past five years, as an observer country, Cuba has worked with the other members of the association to strengthen dialogue and cooperation.
In this regard, he emphasized that he sees enormous potential and opportunities to expand economic, trade, and financial relations.
The head of state also emphasized that Havana can contribute to creating favorable conditions for EAEU partners in Latin American markets.
Finally, he added that Cuba's strategic and geographical location in the Caribbean and the trade agreements it has signed with almost all Latin American and Caribbean countries give it significant advantages in terms of tariffs.
The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council is part of the Eurasian Economic Union summit, which takes place on June 26 and 27 in Minsk, the Belarusian capital.
