Camagüey, July 3 – The Camagüey City Historian's Office has prepared a comprehensive program of activities for this summer season aimed at Camagüey families. The proposal combines recreation and learning, promoting the cultural heritage of the city.

At a press conference, José Rodríguez Barreras, director of the institution, explained that the planning of the events is based on a detailed study of the population's recreational needs, as well as the intention to strengthen the acquisition of knowledge about the local legacy. Furthermore, the country's electro-energetic and economic situation has been taken into account, seeking to offer accessible options for all.

Rodríguez Barreras also reported that the cultural activities and workshops will be free. Tourist routes, which include visits to different places of interest, will have a modest cost and can be paid for through the Transfermóvil platform, thus facilitating access for more people.

The director also emphasized that accessibility is guaranteed for people with disabilities who wish to participate in these activities. The eight available routes are supported by transportation sector workers and non-state management forms, such as the Asphalt Warriors and bicitaxis, among others.

Among the highlights of the program is the celebration on July 7, when the historic center of Camagüey was included in the World Heritage list. This event will have the participation of artists and researchers and will have as a central act a presentation of the Camagüey Folkloric Ballet.

In addition to these novelties, traditional activities by institutions affiliated with the Historian's Office, focused on the cultural and socioeconomic development of the community, will continue throughout the summer.

For more information, the Cultural Management Center, located at 219 Independencia Street, between Martí and Hermanos Agüeros, will operate as an Information Desk. Details about each route, sales dates, and the activities, workshops, and fairs scheduled for this season can be found there. (Text and photos: Idaylen Rodríguez Rodríguez/Radio Cadena Agramonte)
