Cuba, Plenary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Cadre Policy

PCC Plenary evaluated the cadre policy strategy

Havana, July 5 - As part of the first day of the X Plenary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC, for its acronym in Spanish), which will conclude today, members of that party body analyzed this Friday the results of the General Strategy for the application of the Cadre Policy (2021-2026), approved at the VIII Congress of the PCC.

Camilo Hernández Suárez, head of the Cadre Policy Department of the Central Committee, presented an assessment highlighting the systemic design of this strategy, which is based on the historical principles of the Cuban Revolution, with conceptual and practical contributions from Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, and the guidelines of the First Secretary of the PCC, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

He also reaffirmed its full validity, while acknowledging the challenges posed by the complex current scenario.

The Attorney General of the Republic, Yamila Peña Ojeda, emphasized the need for cadres to distinguish themselves by their humility, simplicity, and revolutionary morality.

Every leader who makes mistakes or deviates from ethical principles affects the credibility of the institutions and harms those who are fully committed to Cuba, she stated.

She highlighted the importance of comprehensive support to prevent deviations and address the causes that can lead to incorrect behaviors.

The Comptroller General, Mirian Marbán González, insisted on intransigence in the face of errors and deviations, as well as on accountability as a mechanism to guarantee transparency in management.

She also emphasized the importance of training and attending to cadre reserves, ensuring a pool prepared to assume future responsibilities

Walter Simón Noris, first secretary of the PCC in Camagüey, reflected on the exemplary conduct and systematic work at all levels to identify and develop those who possess the merits to assume leadership positions.

In the same vein, Yoel Pérez García, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the PCC in Guantánamo, pointed out that the socialization of the Strategy in the party nuclei is key to its sustainability; it is there that talents must be detected, missions assigned, and timely warnings given about possible deviations, he stated.

At the conclusion of the interventions, Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC, agreed that all militants must master the Cadre Strategy.

He reiterated that Cuba has plenty of women and men with qualities to be trained as leaders, and recognized the efforts of those who today hold leadership responsibilities.

The 10th Plenary of the Central Committee will continue its sessions this Saturday with other strategic issues for the development of the country. (Text and photo: ACN)
