Camagüey, July 22 – The Camagua Folk Company presents a journey through the different rhythms that make up Cuba's musical identity at international folk festivals in Europe. In addition to performing, they also participate in receptions, dance workshops, and parades.
The Camagüey’s group is touring France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and Switzerland—until August 25—on a tour organized by the Southern Festivals Association.
According to information provided online by its general director, Fernando Medrano Vireya, thousands of spectators attended the group's performances, and the group has received favorable reviews in different media outlets.
These festivals allow folk groups from different regions of the world to share their cultural heritages.
The Camagua Folk Company presents a varied show consisting of the works Clave, guateque y son; Caballero que suene su música por siempre, Homenaje y Caribe soy.
Each of these are pieces that represent color, strength, rhythm and joy in the stages, from choreographies that reveal the Afro-Cuban and Hispanic traditions that are so well defended in this part of the Cuban geography. (Source: Televisión Camagüey) (Photo: Granma)
