Technological Faculty of Health graduates 110 professionals

Camagüey, 23 Jul. - Daniel Santos García was driven by his wife and daughter to graduate with a degree in Nursing. He, along with 109 other graduates, is embarking on a new path of humanism and commitment to society.

The University of Medical Sciences of Camagüey trained in this cicle, seven technicians in Traumatology, three in Aquatic Rescue, 52 technicians in Nursing and the rest as basic technicians of that same service. Some are starting their professional lives in hospital centers for the first time, while others are returning to them in different roles thanks to improvement, as is the case of Daniel, who was a hospital orderly.

“It has been an honor for us to reach this graduation with a high level of preparation and very good academic results. All of them earned over 90 points on the state final exams, which guarantees quality in healthcare services,” stated the dean of the Technological Faculty, Ms. Yamisleidys Agramonte Consuegra.

“The basic technicians are students who were in the open courses; they weren't public health system workers. They are joining as new workers, just like the seven Traumatology technician students, and they are joining our services,” explains Agramonte Consuegra.

Bárbara Estrada Rivero, a basic nursing graduate, also joins the more than two thousand graduates from this faculty. “I used to be the head of general services at the Armando Enrique Cardoso Hospital in the municipality of Guáimaro, and there, seeing what work in public health was like, I became interested in the course. It's a very demanding profession, yes, but with visible results. Now I'll begin the technician course, and then the bachelor's degree, until I reach my specialty, because I expect to become a specialist in Neonatology,” he stated.

Daniel Santos intends to continue his studies in the same way. "We have to keep improving ourselves to see how far we can go. The more knowledge I have, the more I can help patients," he added proudly, knowing that from now on he will be even more useful. (Source: Adelante)
