Medical Sciences University Students in health offensive


Camagüey, July 23 – More than 300 students from the University of Medical Sciences of Camagüey are donating a week of their vacation time to support anti-vector workers in each neighborhood in the fight against the Aedes aegypti mosquito, collecting solid waste, and caring for pregnant women.

The main leaders of the youth and student organizations received the flag accrediting them as members of the March 13th University Guerrilla. During the months of July and August, they will spend a week on a rotating way in the popular councils that most need their knowledge and efforts to prevent contagious diseases that increase during the summer months.

The Camagüey delegation is an initiative of students who have been visiting homes for several years to share health advice and convince residents of the importance of performing weekly autofocus, washing the hands, and eradicating water deposits, source of mosquito breeding ground.

The Maternal and Child Care Program and other health projects will also be attended by young people who give a few days of rest to protect the health of their compatriots, a gesture of the Medical Science University students in the year that the house of high studies of Camagüey turns 45 years.
