Havana, July 23. - Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Cuba's Minister of Transportation, shared on the social network X an analysis of the objective difficulties facing the public transportation system, as well as the ways being explored to overcome them.
Although he acknowledged in the post that the Public Transportation Development Fund represents a structural advantage, Rodríguez Dávila noted that the lack of convertible foreign currency has limited the timely acquisition of essential supplies for maintenance and investment.
He also mentioned the fuel shortage as a direct cause of the impossibility of executing planned trips and effectively restoring road service, he explained in the text.
Rodríguez Dávila announced that, with the recent approval of a new financial scheme supported by foreign currency income from abroad, urgent needs of the sector are being addressed and assured that progress is already being made in the contracting processes to progressively reverse the accumulated limitations.
