Havana, July 24 – Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, today salutated the 20th anniversary of the multi-platform media teleSUR, founded coinciding with the anniversary of the birth of Simón Bolívar.
The head of state highlighted in X that since July 24, 2005, the peoples of Our America have their own voice and image to tell their truths.
Likewise, in his message, Díaz-Canel congratulated the teleSUR team and its director, Patricia Villegas, and thanked them on behalf of Cuba.
The channel was created in Venezuela with the support of the governments of Cuba, Nicaragua, Argentina, Bolivia, and Uruguay.
As teleSUR highlights today on its website, the channel was founded with the goal of offering an informative alternative that reflected the spiritual, cultural, and political riches of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples, promoting the concept of the Great Homeland.
True to its motto Our North is the South, the multiplatform, based in Caracas and Havana, continues working to counter the hegemony of mainstream media.
Over these 20 years, they have expanded their reach with their high-definition signal, launched in 2017, their English version, launched in 2014, and their presence on social media, the web, WhatsApp, and Telegram. (Source: ACN) (Photo: Internet)
