Matanzas, July 29. - A flight with 91 passengers belonging to the Venezuelan airline Turpial arrived at Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport in Varadero, located in the Cuban province of Matanzas.
This flight marked the beginning of Turpial Airlines' operations at the Matanzas airport and will operate once a week, arriving every Monday, reported Yamir Miyares, general coordinator of airport operations.
Turpial is returning to Varadero, as it has done on other occasions, this time with the tour operator Cubatur and in conjunction with Cubana de Aviación, Miyares added.
Turpial Airlines, the main airline of the Venezuelan state of Carabobo, is adding a new arrival to Cuba. Previously, it operated four weekly flights to the archipelago, one to the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba and three to Havana, the island's capital.
According to information provided by the airline last Tuesday, the flight to Varadero will offer three-, five-, or seven-night packages, and the return to Venezuela can be booked through the airline's other trips.
Founded in 2016 and beginning operations in 2017, Turpial's current fleet includes the Virgen de la Chinita (Boeing 737-400), the Virgen de Coromoto (Boeing 737-400), and the Virgen del Valle (Boeing 737-400).
