Havana, 30 Jul.- Talks, guided tours and other cultural initiatives present today the program designed by the Habana’s institution Casa de las Américas to fully enjoy the month of August.
The most recent issues of Casa de las Américas magazine and new releases from the Casa Editorial Fund will be presented in the May Hall of the Cuba Pavilion, the venue for the XXIV Art on the Ramp Fair.
This event will take place on Friday, August 1st, when a meeting with Chilean poet Olga Toro will take place in the institution's Manuel Galich Hall.
Meanwhile, that day, the José Antonio Echeverría Reading Hall will host the NaturaleArte Project: Different techniques for child development, led by professor Alejandro Carrazana.
This space will open its doors on August 8th for the presentation of texts from Gente Nueva Publishing House.
Another activity to consider is the guided tour "A House for the Americas," which every Wednesday offers a tour of the Latin American and Caribbean art housed in the institution's different halls.
The tour scheduled for August 13th will commemorate the birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
The program also included the Children's Folklore Ensemble Workshop in the Che Guevara Hall.
Also not to be missed, the institution invites you on August 25th to the VI Timbalaye Colloquium: African Heritage and Legacy. Roots and Ancestral Voices of the Congos: Living Memory, Inherited Resistance, and Intangible Heritage in Motion.
From the Manuel Galich Hall, the renowned poet and ethnologist Miguel Barnet will offer a keynote lecture on the Palo Monte Rule.
To conclude, the space Sábado del Libro that takes place in the Calle de Madera of the Historic Center of the city will host on August 30 the presentation of Panafricanism, by Hakim Adi and Approximations, Dialogues, and Confluences of Marxist Thought in Améfrica, coordinated by Zuleica Romay Guerra, published by the Editorial Fund Casa de las Américas.
