Minas, Camagüey, July 12 – Culture is an essential pillar of identity and social cohesion, forging values and collective memory. In Minas, the venue of the provincial act for July 26, work is being done to keep this pillar as a flag.
Daimi Díaz Laborda, territorial communications policy specialist for the Municipal Directorate of Culture, highlighted the ongoing work carried out for months at the November 26th House of Culture. This space is the main axis of cultural activities and institutional meetings in the territory.
The House represents a paradigm due to its maintenance and ongoing programming, she stated. Regarding the July 26th celebrations, she noted that El Guiñol Children's Theater Group—directed by Jesús Rueda—will lead the act, with the participation of amateur artists, art instructors from the José Martí Brigade, and local talent.
The official emphasized the ongoing recognition of the municipal cultural work by the Government and the Party. This support guarantees the systematic transfer of artists from distant communities. "Our young talent welcomes these celebrations with motivation, the fruit of sustained efforts," she added.
Díaz emphasized the social impact of culture in the municipality, with activities in the communities on Wednesdays and weekend gatherings in remote areas such as Gurugú, Mola, and La Grabiela. She also highlighted summer night parties and the Guillén Day in workplaces. The municipal museum also coordinates summer tours.
"Culture is a fundamental pillar in any society. Let us remember that culture is both a shield and a sword," Díaz reflected.
