Havana, July 31 - Cuba's Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS, for its acronym in Spanish) has, in recent hours, ratified the requirements to be entitled to retirement as stipulated in Law 105 on Social Security.
A note on the matter on the X platform emphasizes that the retirement age remains unchanged at 60 years for women and 65 for men.

With this, the MTSS clarifies what is stipulated in the aforementioned legal norm in the face of doubts, erroneous interpretations, or false news that has circulated on social networks.
However, the changes or transformations that the country has undergone in the economic and social order in recent years advise tempering the Labor Code, which came into effect in 2014, to today's complex scenario.
In order to update and perfect the duties and rights of workers, the legal and labor relations established between them and employers, meetings to consult on the draft law of the Labor Code will be held throughout the country from September 8 to November 30.
All Cuban workers, both state and non-state, including those who provide collaboration and work on missions abroad, will be summoned to such meetings to make additions or modifications to the text, in the form of a tabloid.
Then, once enriched with the contributions from the work collectives, it will be submitted for approval to the National Assembly of People's Power next year, according to representatives of the Temporary Working Group created in this regard.
This is the most important political process of the labor movement in 2025, in which its participation in the nation's destiny is reaffirmed, Leobanys Ávila Góngora, member of the Organizing Commission of the XXII Congress of the Cuban Workers Union, told local media. (Source: ACN)
