Havana, 7 Aug.- With the suggestive name of El batazo, in baseball allusion to a long-range connection, will be presented this Friday a project on solid urban waste treatment implemented in the capital city of Centro Habana, with three square kilometers of extension and the smallest in the capital.
The program's original title is "Local-Scale Solid Waste Management", in its first phase, implemented in the Los Sitios People's Council, in the aforementioned jurisdiction, according to specialists from the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment.
They meant that the result of their experiences will be exhibited in the Botanical Garden of Havana Quinta de los Molinos.
The initiative is sponsored by the National Environmental Fund (FNM, for its acronym in Spanish), whose primary purpose is to fully or partially finance activities aimed at its protection and rational use of resources.
The rectors of the FNM are the Ministries of Finance and Prices, and the Ministry of Economy and Planning, in accordance with Joint Resolution No.1/200817, which provides for the sources of income, the destination of the financial resources that compose it, and their administration and execution.
