Cuba for more efficient energy technologies

Havana, August 14.- A national science and technological innovation project is being implemented in Cuba, focusing on the energy assessment of refrigeration and air conditioning technologies that use natural or low-environmental-impact refrigerants.

Participating in the initiative are the Center for Energy Information Management and Development (CUBAENERGIA), the Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, the José Antonio Echeverría Technological University of Havana, and the Office for the Control of Rational Energy Use.

Project leader Reynaldo Alemán explained that the project not only responds to a technical need but also to an environmental commitment, by evaluating technologies to make more informed decisions in future investments.

The expected impacts include the development of indicators for greater control over the import of efficient technologies. (Text and photo: Radio Reloj)
