Asunción, 14 Aug.- The Cuban women’s volleyball team won today in three straight sets to Paraguay and will seek tomorrow the fifth place of the II Pan American Junior Games in Asunción 2025.
The women's team, led by Olympic champion Norka Latamblet, who lost the day before to the Dominican Republic in the quarterfinals, will face Costa Rica, the team that defeated Chile 3-1 on this day.
In today's match, won by scores of 21-18, 25-11, and 25-19, the Cubans earned 33 points from attacks, 11 from effective blocks, seven from direct serves, and 24 thanks to their opponents' unforced errors.
Yalain de la Peña scored 17 points, 10 of them from attacks, leading the Antillean team, while Ruth Peralta stood out for the defeated team with 12.
