Moscow, August 28 - The Venezuelan Minister of Interior, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, described the mobilization of the Venezuelan people as historic, as it exceeded the recruitment points of the Bolivarian National Militia amidst increasing pressures from the United States.
“President Nicolás Maduro, as he should, called on the people to join the Bolivarian National Militia, and this call was met with overwhelming support,” Cabello stated during the Wednesday edition of his program Con el mazo dando, refuting claims from opposition sectors that labeled the recruitment effort a failure.
He affirmed that he personally witnessed the massive citizen participation in Plaza Bolívar, military barracks, and other emblematic locations.
He also addressed the criticism surrounding the call to action. “We are crazy, but crazy with love for our homeland. Leave us be and don’t give yourselves a hard time,” he said.
In this context, he reminded that Maduro has called for a second recruitment day to take place on August 29 and 30. (Text and photo: RT)
