Cuba remembers the First Declaration of Havana

Havana, September 2.- The Vice President of the Republic of Cuba, Salvador Valdés, today recalled the 65th anniversary of the First Declaration of Havana.

On this day in 1960, hundreds of thousands of Cubans gathered in the Plaza de la Revolución to support the First Declaration of Havana. It was a sovereign response and a proclamation to the world of the principles of the Revolution, he wrote on the social network X.

For his part, the secretary of organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, alluded to the historic event and stated that its postulates have an enormous validity today.

The First Declaration of Havana, ratified by the National General Assembly of the People of Cuba, revealed the sentiments of the revolutionaries through their supreme leader, Fidel Castro Ruz.

With it, Cubans confirmed their willingness to work and fight for the future of the peoples of America. Remembered among the momentous events in our history, this event reveals one of the greatest demonstrations of support for Fidel and the nascent Revolution. (Text and photo: PL)
