Cuba and Vietnam to premiere documentary "Seeds of Happiness"

Havana, September 2nd – On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Canal Caribe, the Cuban News Channel, and VTV 1, the Vietnamese television channel, will premiere the audiovisual production "Seeds of Happiness," which gathers life stories of Vietnamese and Cubans who have united in Los Palacios, Pinar del Río, in rice planting.

The one-hour VTV feature film “Seeds of Happiness” will be broadcast simultaneously in both countries in commemoration of the Vietnamese national holiday. The premiere will take place on September 2 at 8:10 p.m. Vietnam Time on VTV 1, and at 9:10 a.m. on the same day on Canal Caribe.

“Seeds of Happiness” recreates the work in Cuba of a group of Vietnamese farmers, who contribute their experiences in Los Palacios to planting special rice varieties, including the CT16 seed.

With the collaboration of Naturaleza Secreta in Cuba and the support of the Institute of Information and Social Communication, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture and the Vietnamese Embassy in Havana, the Vietnamese feature film testifies to the brotherhood between Cubans and Vietnamese, peoples who have stood side by side through difficult times.

Through the story of rice grains, the film shows Vietnam not only as the world's leading rice exporter, but also as a nation willing to share knowledge and experiences, based on solidarity, for the sake of Cuba's food sovereignty and the building of a prosperous and sustainable nation.

Tu Luong, director of the Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City, who participated in the production of "Seeds of Happiness," stated that the broadcast of this VTV special is even more meaningful given that the values ??of independence, freedom, and happiness that Vietnam achieved 80 years ago continue to radiate worldwide.

With its direct and heartfelt cinematic narrative, along with elaborate photography, images, music, and historical archival materials, the feature film promises an emotional, humane, and meaningful experience on National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. (Text and Photo: Cubadebate)
