Unión Eléctrica reports another total outage of the National Electric System

Havana, September 10. - The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) reported today that there has been a total disconnection from the national electricity system (SEN), and that the restoration process has begun.

According to information published in X, the disconnection may be associated with an unexpected shutdown at the Guiteras thermoelectric plant (CTE); however, the causes are under investigation.

The Guiteras CTE, located in the province of Matanzas, is the largest and most efficient unitary block in Cuba. (Text and photo: ACN)
