Workshop on Fidel and sciences to be held


Havana, September 11. - The Economic Society of Friends of the Country (SEAP) announced the launch of its Fidel Centennial program in Havana with the presentation of the progress of the project called Alternatives to increase the effectiveness of Science, Technology, and Innovation Entities in Achieving Economic Results.

A specialized workshop on Friday will be the setting for the presentation of the initiative to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in 2026.

SEAP executives also reported that the meeting aims to promote alternatives that facilitate increased productivity, quality, and value in the economically important sectors with which they are associated and contribute to optimizing the implementation of their policies.

They added that it will be led by Zoila Benítez de Mendoza, president of SEAP, and the members of its Governing Board, including Luis Oscar Gálvez Taupier, who will conduct it on behalf of the Cuban Institute of Sugarcane Derivatives.

The main conference will be led by Mariela Gallardo Capote, project leader and vice president of the Azcuba Sugar Group, and presentations will be made later for discussion.

Representatives from various entities, the Cuban Academy of Sciences, regional sections and chapters of SEAP, the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Group (BioCubaFarma), Cuban member centers of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, scientific societies, specialized press, university professors and researchers, and professionals from other institutions are invited.
