Havana, September 17 – Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz passed away this Tuesday, September 16, victim of a painful illness, at the age of 88.
He headed several ministries in the economic sphere, represented Cuba internationally, co-chaired the Intergovernmental Commissions for economic and financial relations with various countries, was a member of the Party's Central Committee and a deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power.
The First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, wrote on his social media account X that this is "very sad news for Cuba" and emphasized that Cabrisas Ruiz was "an exemplary man who dedicated his entire life to the Revolution."
Awarded multiple national and international recognitions, simple, modest, and austere, he enjoyed the full trust of Fidel, Raúl, and the leadership of the Party, the State, and the Government. For his outstanding services to the nation, he was awarded the honorary title of Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba. Our deepest condolences go to his family. (Text and Photo: Cubadebate)
